What is Traditional Headshot Photography?
Traditional headshot photography is a timeless and professional approach to capturing a person’s likeness. It focuses on clean, simple compositions with the subject framed against a solid background, ensuring all attention is on their face. Using a straightforward lighting setup—often a key light, fill light, and possibly a hair light—this style aims to create flattering, well-lit portraits that highlight the subject’s features without distractions.
This method is widely used for corporate headshots, actor portfolios, LinkedIn profiles, and professional branding. The consistency and polished look of traditional headshots make them a go-to choice for professionals who want a reliable and versatile image for business or personal use. By keeping the background and lighting minimal, the emphasis remains on expression, confidence, and approachability—key elements that make a headshot effective.

ACTING HEADSHOT
Crafting Your Acting Headshots
Pre-Production
My process begins with a discussion about your acting career, roles you've played, and those you aspire to. Your headshot should reflect your brand—whether it’s dramatic, comedic, or a specific archetype.
Theme & Wardrobe
Colors, backgrounds, and outfits play a key role in setting the right tone. We’ll help you choose wardrobe options that enhance your look while maintaining authenticity.
Hair & Makeup
Simplicity is key—natural makeup and well-groomed hair ensure an authentic, polished image. Minor touch-ups in post-processing will refine your final look.
Scheduling & Location
I offer flexible scheduling, with sessions available within one to two weeks. My home studio in San Jose, with travel options within the South Bay (fees apply for locations beyond).
Production Day – Capturing Character & Confidence
I focus on natural expressions and subtle posing to bring out your personality. Expression is key—whether a warm smile or a composed, focused look. Even small details, like posture and hand placement, can elevate your headshot’s impact.
